Well its been far too long since I last posted a new page, and I’m sorry for that. I’ve simply been incredibly busy with my brother’s wedding and my move to Austria.
But now I’m here, in Vienna, ready to start my studies, for a year, all alone.
It’s an exciting but also terrifying opportunity, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sacred half to death by my situation. In fact I’m already missing home and I expect there’ll be many days to come where I just want to pack up and leave. But this is a challenge that I’ve set myself and challenges are never easy.
On the plus side though, Vienna is as beautiful as ever and during the last week I was able to explore further parts of the city with my parents before thier flight back home.

We spent a few hours simply wondering through the streets of Vienna, past the magnificent Rathausplatz where the circus is currently being held and into the equally beautiful Volksgarten. One thing that I do really enjoy about Vienna is how laid back it feels as a city. There’s no enormous crowds of people and it rarely feels busy. In the Volksgarten everyone was just having a nice, relaxing time, lazing in the sunshine.
After the gardens we headed to the Natural History Museum of Vienna which is absolutely brilliant. Like so many buildings in Vienna, it exudes classical architecture and its ceiling is adorned with stunning frescoes. The museum itself contains an incredible collection ranging from ancient fossils and dinosaur bones, to stuffed animals and the world’s largest collection of meteorites. There’s even a animatronic dinosaur, much like the one they have in the London Natural History Museum, and it still scares the hell out of me.

After that we had to go on a desperate search for ice cream for someone (cough mum cough), and then we headed over to restaurant where we had lunch on the banks of the Danube. After that it was time to say goodbye to my Mum and Dad and open up this new chapter in my life.

Well, wish me luck.

Looks like Vienna’s treating you well – where the circus is, there’s a huge ice rink in wintertime! I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger Award, really enjoy reading about your hikes in the UK and travels beyond https://lagrenouilleanglaise.wordpress.com/2016/10/02/sunshine-blogger-award/
