Garth Pier (aka Bagnor Pier) is the 9th longest pier in the UK and the second longest in Wales at around 1500ft in length, which means it would stand higher than the Shard in London. At low tide, the site is a haven for local seabirds who feed in the rich mud of the Menai Straits, and its backdrop of the Snowdonia mountains make for an absolutely beautiful view. Over the years the pier has been under numerous threats of demolition, and though the pier is now a grade II listed structure, but the need for repairs means there is now a honesty box for those wishing to walk along the pier.
P is for Pier
