The development of Beaumaris town first began in 1295, under orders of King Edward I, the local population was forcibly removed in order to make way for Norman and English settlers, the name Beaumaris in fact derives from the French words beaux marais, meaning beautiful marshes.
Today Beaumaris is a bustling seaside town, home to an extensive pleasure boating industry, and its position on the edge of the Menai Straits means the town is offers beautiful views of Snowdonia and the city of Bangor.
The town’s history also means it is home to numerous historical attractions such as Beaumaris Castles, the old town gallows and the abandoned mansion of Baron Hill.

So many wonderful memories of all the North Wales castles. A day in Beaumaris, chips, castles, crabbing from the pier is hard to beat
