The Battle of the Alamo in 1836 ended with the death of all its defenders, however the defenders’ heroic last stand against the Mexican army for 13 days inspired the Texans to rally and defeat the Mexicans at the Battle of San Jancinto, thus securing the Independence of Texas.

Thanks, glad you liked it, I was going to use a photo of the actual Alamo, which is just off screen, but I decided the memorial was much more relevant
